WHAT ARE YOU SAYING

Image
A friend of mine kept twisting and turning as she lay down and so i had  asked her what was wrong with her and she said *"nothing"*.  Few minutes later, she said to me; Tife, do you know that words are powerful? I was actually feeling pains when you asked what was wrong with me, but immediately I said nothing, I actually felt better.   For every experience we have in life there tons of lessons embedded and so  every word that proceeds out of our mouth are more powerful than we can actually think.   *What are you saying?*    What are you confessing about your life, health, academics, relationship, business, career and even marriage. Your words can either make you or mar you, it can build you or destroy you, it can raise you or make you fall, it can heal you or injure you, it can encourage you or discourage you, it can put you in trouble or elevate you, it can "dash" you a lot of enemies or "deliver" to you super cool people. ...

CHILDHOOD MEMORIES

Image
I've being in my room all day like, whew! It's gonna be fine, we'll get through this. So my friend and I were talking randomly and really laughing out loud, especially when we got talking about childhood.  The days of "suwe", "tinko tinko", who is in the garden, even remembering "Cinderella dress in yellow, went outside to kiss a fellow" brought a smile to my face. The days we played in the rain without feeling ashamed, when we lived our lives without feeling guilty.  Those were days where we didn't struggle to fit in so bad, we didn't strive to be who we were not, we lived life freely, justly and gave love as much as we could.. Mehn! The joys of childhood and how much I miss it. So tell me, what do you miss about your childhood? What are those experiences you'll love to have again? Who did you really want to be?

THE PRINTS IN THE SAND

Image
Thinking critically about it, I discovered that men live their lives in two ways, it's either a life worthy of emulation and full of impact or they simply "exist", i.e, some men exist and not "live" and believe me when I say that most don't even realize it.     We see the lives of people who have made impact like Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King Jr in their fight against racism and for freedom, Mary slessor, when she stopped the killing of twins, and even in the lives of scientists like Thomas Eddison, Albert Einstein among others. These people and more left long standing impacts that is evident even in our generation today, they left unforgettable PRINTS in the sand of time and dare I say in the sand of purpose too. It is safe to say that they lived and not just existed.    Leaving the secular world and turning to our lives as Christians, we don't even need to look too far, with Jesus as our prime example, we see the impacts he has ma...

WHAT'S YOUR STORY?

Image
My story, Your story, this a topic most of us would always want to discuss regardless of how painful or sweet the experience is, we just want to let them out intentionally or unintentionally, let the whole world what and what we've been through and how we survived them.           We all have stories to tell, which relates to reasons why we are the way we are, why we do the things we do, why we relate the way we do, why we act and react the way we do, even why we think the way we do.          Some of us at some points have gone through delays, well, I have too, especially when it comes to admission into higher institution in Nigeria, I'm sure some of us can relate, but my stance remains that delay isn't denial and every lost year will be recovered. Some of us carry the burdens of our bad pasts, and it begins to affect our present, but listen, your past is your past and it doesn't define you. For you to refer to som...

JUST DO IT.

Image
So I was in a meeting where goals were been discussed, I mean setting goals and actually doing them. There were plenty of great suggestions of how you can set your goal and also fulfill them.             Some of them are classifying them into short term and long term, staying grounded, planting you in the positive environment and having some positive vibes to join. Then something occurred to me, and I asked myself, why don't you JUST DO IT ? You'll agree with me that not all goals are time sensitive (like 1am, 5pm). We all know there's something about prayers that has to do with time consistency, but outside that, there are other goals that can be carried out despite and in spite.   For instance, you have set a goal of reading certain number of books in a month, instead of waiting for a particular time, why don't you just do it? Things even as simple as house chores, just get...
